Jr Lifeguard Program
4 and 5 week session overview ( Ages 9 - 17 )
The 4 and 5 week DMJG Program is set up for first time participants and returning participants. It is a physically demanding program with lots of beach and water action along with FUN! Sportsmanship, team work, respect of the beach and ocean are stressed. Lifeguard rescue techniques are taught and practiced daily along with first aid and CPR. We will participate in Junior Lifeguard Competitions, field trips and an awards banquet at the end of each session.
2 week session overview ( Ages 9 - 13 )
The 2 week sessions are set up for first time JG participants, the session is an INTRODUCTION to the DMJG program. All basic JG skills and games will be covered. There will be lots of beach and water action daily along with FUN!
The emphasis is on FUN while LEARNING.

We are offering several programs that we hope will fit your schedule. You can register online, or by mail. To secure the spot you want we recommend you register and pay online. Our spots are first come first serve. Online registrations are processed in real time.

- Rip currents and how to recognize and navigate if need be

- Lifeguard communications (radio codes, hand signals)
- Mock rescues
- Body board instruction, surfing instruction, body surfing instruction
- Physical fitness
- Nutrition
- Sun Protection
- Sportsmanship and teamwork
- Water etiquette
- Municipal codes
- Jr. Lifeguard competition events
- Oceanography, marine life and respect of nature
Refunds and Switching Sessions
Refunds: Between March 1 and May 31, 2008 half of the participant fee will be refunded in the event a participant must cancel. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER JUNE 1, 2008. No refund requests will be accepted after May 31, 2008. A written request including the reason for cancellation must be postmarked before June 1, 2008 and submitted to Turtleguard Inc.; PO Box 494; Cardiff, CA 92007. Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing. Fees are nontransferable. Participants dismissed from the program are not eligible for refunds. FULL REFUNDS ARE ISSUED TO PARTICIPANTS WHO FAIL THE SWIM TEST.
Switching Sessions: A $50 processing fee will apply toward each junior guard who changes sessions. A written request must be submitted to Turtleguard, Inc.; PO Box 494; Cardiff CA 92007; with the $50 processing fee [payable to Turtleguard Inc.] and any additional session fees. Requests will only be honored in the event there is space available in the session the junior guard wishes to switch to.
